Moss (Sphagnum sp.)[]
- Height: Pressure Plate
- Spreads on Peat
- Time: Triassic to Modern
- Native biome(s): Forest, Birch Forest, Flower Forest, Taiga, Mega Taiga, Jungle, Swampland
If you spawn in or discover a Forest, Birch Forest, Flower Forest, Taiga, Mega Taiga, Jungle or Swampland biome, you may notice flat patches of Moss (roughly the same shape as Pressure Plates) growing on grass or other dirt variants. Moss is a small but hardy plant, and it can easily be mined and picked up by hand or basically any tool/item, although it is fastest with Shears.
Once you have a decent amount of Peat and some Moss, you can start farming the Moss.
Moss can be placed on Peat, Gravel, Cobblestone or any dirt variant. However, it will spread when placed on Peat.
Once you have obtained 9 or more moss tiles, you can craft 9 of them into a Peat Moss block. Peat Moss blocks will become useful once you start hatching dinosaurs with the Incubator...
