Encephalartos sp. Edit
- Height: 2 blocks
- Spreads near water
- Time: Modern
- Native biome(s): None (obtain from fossils)
- Somewhat poisonous (35% chance of a short to medium-length Poison effect if eaten)
- Stegosaurus and other cycad specialists can eat this plant without consequences.
Commonly known as Bread Trees or Bread Palms, cycads within the genus Encephalartos are still alive today in central and southeast Africa. The cones of this 3-4 metre tall cycad are harvested locally, and prepared into food due to the edible starch in the pith of the trunk. However, these plants (especially the seeds) can sometimes be quite toxic!
